Robert Nurisso

Robert Nurisso represents the third generation of Nurissos in the plumbing industry. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance. He obtained his Master of Business Administration in 1969 from the University of San Francisco. From 1965 to 1969, he completed his plumbing apprenticeship program. In July 1966, he completed Officer Cadet School and was commissioned as aSecond Lieutenant in the California National Guard.
In 1968, Robert became Broadway’s Controller. In 1972, he gained 25% ownership and in 1975 he became President. In 1982, Robert purchased the interest of his father and uncle and redesigned the management and ownership team. Robert, affectionately known in the industry as Broadway Bob, increased sales revenue from $5 million to $35 million over the next five years, when the firm merged with Scott Company in 1986. Scott Co. grew from $80 million to $275 million over the next 17 years until its voluntary shutdown in September 2003. Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. re-commenced operations in October 2003 and today is still owned by Robert’s four children. Robert continues to estimate complex plumbing projects and provide his sons and other members of BMC’s executive management team his valuable views and past experiences.
