BMC was contracted to assist in the remodel of the Health Sciences East 5th floor, home to the UCSF Center for Bioengineering and Tissue Regeneration. The project consisted of updating a 4,800 sq ft out-of-date surgery lab into a state-of-the-art research lab. BMC provided complete installation of all new HVAC equipment including prefabricated sheet metal duct work, VAV boxes and reheat coils. The scheduling of the renovation required that existing laboratory be kept open and operational during working hours. As a result, BMC performed our work during the evening, off hours and throughout the weekend to complete the HVAC installation. The U.S. Green Building Council awarded UCSF’s HSE5 Center for Bioengineering and Tissue Regeneration LEED®-CI (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Commercial Interiors) Gold Certification.
