The Oakland Museum is a 94,000 sq ft facility situated on four city blocks near Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland. In 2009, the museum began a $62million to modernize the facility. The remodel/renovation included work performed on the Great Hall, Theater, Dining and Offices, Ticket Booths, Docent Offices, the Museum Store, and Security Gates. BMC performed the installation of plumbing fixtures for the remodeled bathrooms and kitchens, including drainage, waterlines and sanitary, waste and vent. The renovation is pursing the LEED® Commercial Interiors certification.
